Hands that Heal: International Curriculum to Train Caregivers of Trafficking Survivors provides a comprehensive approach to serving victims of trafficking and educating caregivers so that they may appropriately and effectively provide care and support. Hands that Heal was originally published in 2007, but while much is the same, much has changed as well. While the underlying factors that promote and sustain trafficking around the world remain the same, the strategies of the sellers and buyers of people have become more sophisticated and complex. This horror still wreaks devastation on the lives of millions of voiceless victims around the world. Were our efforts then wasted? If the traffickers and buyers keep changing tactics, how can we keep up? What response can the followers of Jesus Christ take to care for these vulnerable people?This edition will be an up-to-date review of relevant research about what works in the care of survivors, case studies to apply learning, and interventions that can be used to promote healing. This format allows professors and trainers to customize learning opportunities for the needs of their specific courses or ministries and makes learning tools available to more workers through an online platform. Yet, this new edition is not about the agenda of FAAST, its member organizations, or any associated denomination. It is about the work of the Father to rescue the marginalized, the oppressed, and the poor.
